Flying to Byron:
If you're coming from Sydney, Melbourne or Perth your best bet is to fly Virgin or JetStar into Ballina. There are several flights per day. There is also the option to fly into Coolangatta airport on the Gold Coast and drive down to Byron (about an hour's drive).
Car Hire:
Both airports offer car hire services.
Airport transfers to Byron & hotels:
There are bus services from both airports to Byron Bay. You could also Uber from Ballina to Byron (about 30min). If you are flying in to Coolangatta we would not recommend relying on Uber as it's about a 60 min drive.
Driving to Byron:
From Sydney, this is an epic road trip, one that we have done several times! It's about 11 hours all up but we'd recommend doing it over a few days - there's heaps of great spots to stop along the way. Let us know if you are planning to drive and we can recommend some places!
-
There are tons of hotels, Airbnbs and campgrounds in and around the Byron area.
Staying in town means you're close to cafes, restaurants and shops. We recommend staying anywhere between Ruskin St and Main Beach. You'd be ok not having a car if you stay around here. There are plenty of Ubers and taxis.
There are some gorgeous areas outside of central Byron which will be much more chill. Wategos, Tallow Beach, Belongil, Suffolk Park and Ewingsdale are all great but we'd only recommend staying here if you are planning on renting a car. If you are planning on staying outside of central Byron, keep in mind the bus to and from the wedding will only stop in two locations in central Byron.
For recommendations on where to eat, drink & shop, here is Lou's Byron Google Map!

At the end of the night the bus will drop guests back at the two pick-up locations.
Please note the drive out to the venue is ~20 mins. You can bring drinks on the bus, but please take them with you otherwise we'll get a pretty hefty charge. Please note you cannot take drinks with you from the venue at the end of the night.

We’ve gotten in contact with everyone who has confirmed their little ones will go into the wedding babysitting. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate any more kids at this stage.
The kiddies are more than welcome to join us at the welcome drinks and recovery party!

Having you make the effort to come to Byron Bay for the wedding is the ultimate gift.
However, if you would like to mark the occasion of our wedding with a gift, then we would be more than grateful to receive a small contribution towards our next adventure.
More than anything, we hope that you can make it on the day so please don't feel obliged in any way.
-
You will have to make your own arrangements to get to the recovery party.
The venue is about ~15 mins from central Byron. There is parking at the venue and you should have no issues getting an Uber / Taxi during the day.
-
We’ve set up a Whatsapp group for this weekend. If you aren’t on it, let us know and we’ll add you!
-
We'd love all of your photos! We'll set up a shared photo account for everyone to drop their photos in and/or find photos and we'll share the link in the whatsapp group!
-
Because I’ve gotten this question so many times already!
